1. Membership classes

The Society has the following 7 classes of members:

  • Life Member
  • Life Fellow
  • Associate Member
  • Student Member
  • Life Corporate Member
  • Honorary Fellow
  • Affiliate Member

    2. Qualification for membership
      Class of Member Qualification
    1. Life Member Graduate in engineering or in science with specilisation in Electronics/Communication or Nationally recognised equivalent qualification
    2 Life fellow

    Same as that for Life Member with:
    i) age more than 40 years
    ii) have made significant contribution to the broadcast engineering profession

    or

    have been Life Member for not less than 5 years

    3 Associate Member Diploma in Electronics/Communication or a Nationally recognised equivalent qualification with minimum 15 years of experience after acquiring the qualification
    4 Student Member Student in the Engineering College in the Electronics/Communication or equivalent degree course
    5. Life Corporate Member Any commercial organisation interested in promoting the objectives of the Society
    6. Honorary Fellow Distinguished person intimately connected with broadcast engineering/science or an allied subject whom the Society wishes to honour
    7. Affiliate Member A person of outstanding repute and eminence in the art & science of broadcast engineering or any of its allied professions can be affiliated by the Council of the Society

    4. Rights & privileges of Members

    1) Life Members & Life Fellows are entitled to participate in all the activities of the Society.
    They have rights to vote and will receive journals free of charge. They are also entitled to hold the position of office bearer.

    2) Associate Member, Student Member, Life Corporate Member, Honorary Fellow and Affiliate Member are also entitled to participate in all activities of the Society and will receive technical journal free of charge. But they neither have power to vote in the meetings of the Society nor to hold any office of the Society.

    3) The rights & privileges of the members are not transferable.

    4) Some of the information available at this website is accessible to BES (I) members only.

    5. How to become a Member of BES (I)?

    Any person fulfilling the requisite qualification can apply for the membership by filling the membership form.
